Welcome to Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary! This beautiful elephant shelter has been around for years and is a place where rescued animals spend their old days in freedom in their own natural habitat. You can book an half day tour with us, either for the morning or afternoon. During your trip we'll do a number of activities with the elephants. You will meet the elderly family member named ‘Thong’, walk with them around the park, prepare food & feed them and take a mud bath with the elephants.

Pickup times07:3013:00Our driver will meet you at the hotel reception of your hotel or at the pier. We pick up other customers and make our way to Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary, about 20 minutes north of Ao Nang.
A warm welcome to the sanctuary! After a brief introduction it's time to meet Tong, the oldest member of the herd in the camp.
We join the elephants for a walk around the park. We do this in their pace. They stop sometimes to eat or to sit down and relax.
We prepare food and herbal medicine for the elephants. When ready, it's time to feed them.One of the highlights of the day as this is a special treat for them. You will also receive drinks and fresh fruits at the camp.
See the elephants in the mud spa. They enjoy rolling around in the mud. As for humans, they use it to treat and protect their skin from parasites.
Prepare to get dirty! We get into the natural pool together with the elephants. You can wash them or just observe them as they roll around in the water and mud,

Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary is a place where elephants can enjoy being in their own habitat. Doing what they do: eating (a lot!), bathing in mud and walking around the forest. That is what you will be seeing during your trip: elephants behaving like elephants. We don't allow a continuous close contact as it makes the elephants feel uncomfortable. Bathing is allowed, but the rest of the time you will be observing and feeding them. That way the elephants feel in harmony with nature and can enjoy doing what they always do.

The mission of this sanctuary is to take care of them in their natural habitat and to increase public knowledge about this mighty animal. This will benefit our future generations and the elephants can get old happy and worry free!
Most definitely! Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary welcomes children of all ages. Safety is our concern, so we give young and old guidelines and rules at the start of the program. That way we can keep the trip safe and fun for everyone. Children between 0-3 can join for free. Kids between 4-10 pay a lower child price.
We welcome pregnant women to the sanctuary, but keep in mind that we walk along the park with the elephants. This can be tiring for women during their late pregnancy.
We are open year round, rain or sunshine. The elephants enjoy the rain as they can have fun in the mud and water. Don’t worry about the weather: if it’s necessary we’ll provide rain coats and umbrellas. Visiting Krabi Elephant House during a rainy day is something special!
Yes. Cancelling or moving your booking to another date is free up to 24 hours before the tour starts, and anything you have paid is refunded in full. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time are non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded. If we have to cancel, for example for weather or safety, you can move to another date or take a full refund.

We had an absolutely incredible time at the Krabi Elephant House Sanctuary! Everything was perfect—from the comfortable ride in the air-conditioned minivan with plush seats to the warm and welcoming guide, Jo. He was not only funny but also genuinely caring, making us feel connected and well looked after. Being so close to the elephants was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! One tip: when applying mud to the elephants, it can get slippery—leave your flip-flops behind and consider wearing coral reef sock shoes with rubber soles. These provide great support, especially when stepping into the rocky river where visibility is low. We couldn’t recommend this experience more—1000% worth it! Thank you for a truly unforgettable day!

Beautiful animals cared for by lovely people in their natural environment. Joe (Coconut man) gave a safety talk and along with the elephant carers kept everyone safe. The mud spa was messy but fun and the river wash was a great experience with the elephants seeming to enjoy it. Refreshments and some snacks provided so highly recommended. Use a dark coloured swim costume as the mud is a dark red colour that stains easily. Take an old towel and spare trunks to change into to as well. 👍😁

I loved this so much! The elephants were so gentle, and you could see how much the staff cared for them. Feeding them was fun, but the best part was bathing them. It felt so special to be that close to them. I’ll always remember this day!
