Description
Visit the beautiful mangroves at Ao Thalane by kayak! This half day kayaking tour includes a pickup from your hotel in Krabi town, Ao Nang, Klong Muang and Tub Kaek. We'll take you west towards Ao Thalane bay, which is located around 25 minutes away from Ao Nang. Here you can enjoy a half day kayaking tour around the mangroves. Our guide will take you around sea caves and deep into the mangrove forests where you can spot animals like crab-eating monkeys (macaques), Kingfishers and many more. The bay itself is surrounded by tall karst rock formations and is an amazing sight to be kayaking through!

Pickup window08:00–09:00We begin the kayaking trip to Ao Thalane with a pickup from your hotel. We'll email you a more specific pickup time once your booking is in. Our driver takes you in about 10-20 minutes to Ao Thalane.
The kayaking adventure starts with a short introduction (if necessary). Put on a life vest and boar your kayak! Our guide will lead you across the bay to the mangrove forest.
Paddle through the shallow waters of the mangroves. When the tide is low, we incidentally have to exit the kayak to push it to deeper waters. On most days we can see wild monkeys and kingfisher birds here.
When exiting the mangroves, it's time for some sea kayaking past giant karst rocks, into large overhanging rocks that form caves. We'll stay close to the shore and kayak our way around them.
At around noon it's time to head back to the pier. If you booked a lunch, a delicious Thai style set lunch will be ready for you. Bon appetit! Enjoy it while overlooking beautiful Thalane bay.

After lunch or on your return to the pier, it's time to head back to your hotel. Our driver will take you back to the pickup point. You should arrive there no later than 13:00. The kayaking adventure at Ao Thalane ends here!

Yes, this tour is suitable for beginners. Our guides are always present to help you out in case of issues. You don't need prior kayaking experience to be able to join this tour.
You can book this tour either with or without lunch. If you book lunch, a delicious Thai set lunch will be served on return to the pier. The extra costs for lunch are THB 200/person.
Yes, children aged 4 and above can join the kayaking at Ao Thalane. A life jacket is mandatory and they need to be accompanied by an adult. Please note that the adult will need to do most of the heavy lifting, so it's a good idea to place them together with a strong adult who will do the kayaking.
Yes. Cancelling or moving your booking to another date is free up to 24 hours before the tour starts, and anything you have paid is refunded in full. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time are non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded. If we have to cancel, for example for weather or safety, you can move to another date or take a full refund.

This was a lovely tour. The mangroves were amazing, and kayaking was smooth. The guide was kind, but the tour felt a little short. I wish we had more time to explore, but overall, it was a great way to see the area.

The mangroves were so beautiful, and kayaking was fun. It was a bit tiring after a while, but the guide was helpful and made sure everyone was okay. The views were worth it, though. It was a peaceful way to enjoy nature.

I enjoyed this tour a lot. The mangroves were beautiful, and kayaking was relaxing. The only downside was that it got a bit hot by the end of the trip. Our guide Mee was fantastic and made sure we stayed hydrated and had a great time.
